Torque motor thingy-ma-jingy...

Anyone know how much VW would charge to repair the torque motor-thingy-ma-jingy? You know that thing that distributes torque.....

Apologies for my lack of knowing what every component/part is called....

My warrenty has been expired for the last 4 months........so....

Are we talking about the car in your signature? If so, that'd be a FWD car, and the torque distribution would be controlled by the ESP system which would brake the wheel spinning the fastest to transfer torque to the wheel with the most grip.

I shouldve said, last time vagcom was connected, an engine fault came up, it was a engine fault that involved a motor that distributes torque... i was told its a fault that often happens, but usually resolved by a warrenty repair... i was told not worry bout it, but was also told by a friend of mine who works at Barlo that can effect the performance of my car...

That part may not be faulty and it depends on how it was showing in Vagcom/VCDS, it may have been a one off fault that appeared so unless you have a copy of the Vagcom/VCDS log with the fault listed everyone would be guessing.

Even if the part is showing up with an error it may be something else causing it or even a loose connection somewhere.

Best to take it into somewhere that specialises in VW and if you used to have the car serviced by a VW dealer take it back to them as they may be able to have VW cover all or part of the cost of replacement.
