Rear doors don't lock or unlock

I tried opening my rear doors (with the button on the drivers door) and the remote and the rear doors wouldn't unlock.

I physically opened the doors via the rear internal door handle and it opened... but now they don't lock. I tried everything from the button on the drivers door, using the remote and driving off for the 'auto lock' feature, but nothing helped.

There is power to the doors as the window switch glows red and the windows do wind up/down

Anyone have the same problem?

Hi,

I had a similar problem with my GTI. I got it fixed under warranty- the dealer had to change one of the locks as it was sticking. It was really annoying as it occurred intermittently so every time I took it back it worked!

At first the dealer would not believe me but I was persistent and they eventually changed the lock- problem solved.

took my car into a dealer today... they said they may not have time to look at it today.. (which annoyed me but understandable)...

Hopefully they'll get it fixed. Do you think it has anything to do with the ecu control?

Dealer says door controllers overheated and needs replacing... doesn't make much sense since how did both over heat at the same time... but we'll see what happens.
