Think they look great on a MKV - tossing up myself between these and BBS...

Paul_OH: The car looks great mate, are those genuine ones? They look alot more agressive than most reps in terms of offset and width is all.

        They're 18x8.5 ET45 from http://www.velocitymotoring.com/links/wheels_v708.htm

anybody know what the OEM GTI Wheels weighs?

I rotated my wheels the other day, pleasantly surprised to see BBS stamped on them.

To those to changed to replica RS4 rims, any degradation in performance/handling?

          Also what tyres you using?

considering getting some 18inch replica RS4 rims (with wider rubber) for my GTI if handling is equal to my OEM GTI rims due to the increased weight of the 18s.

No rubbing experienced however I only fitted them on Saturday. They're 8.5" wide but still ET45. The previous owner had them in fitted with low (did I say low, I meant LOW!) coilovers with no rubbing and I'm on std springs

FWIW - the 18" wheels Paul_OH has on his GT are half a kilo lighter per wheel than the stock GT 17" wheels.
While they have a 225 width tyre on them, you could comfortably run a 235 on the 8.5" wide wheel.

The VMR reps have the most pronounced curve and thinnest spokes of all the RS4 reps, which replicate the genuine RS4 look.
The RS4 'style' ones from Audi (as fitted to A3 and A4) look relatively bloated in comparison

                  1/2 kg lighter sounds promising,

ok, where can you get VMR reps in OZ?

According to their website, is this the correct one?

                  5 x 112 mm 18 x 8.5” / + 38mm 25.5 lbs

so the OEM GTI rim is say 12kg?

quite amusing.. "my brand of RS4 reps are heaps better than your cheap RS4 reps".

would prefer 235s too, more rubber on the road.

I'm not sure what the weight is on a stock 17" Denver - i'd imagine it to be 12-12.5 (as per the GT wheel)
                    Reps ain't Reps, it's true!

There isn't a local distributor, but a place like redline-motorworks.com will ship internationally (email for a quote). They'll have the right offset for a MKV too.
An offset of +38 will stick out too far and will rub if you're lowered.
an offset of +45 is just right.

Nothing wrong with them sticking out a bit, poke FTW!
If you scared of rubbing, run a slightly skinnier tyre

                        Thanks for the info.

I saw on redline-motorworks.com to fit the MkV has 45mm offset.

Interesting that the actual VMR website doesn't list a 45mm offset version, only a 38mm for the 18", and 38/48mm for the 19"

There's a local shop that sells rep, i'll take a look and also see take a pic of the spokes & curvature of it.
