  • MkV Jetta Wheels and Tyres

    Hi guys,
I will be in the market for some wheels and tyres in the near future.
Just over 40k on my rubber atm and thinking its a good time to put some decent wheels/tyres.
I was hoping to go 18" or 19" with 245's. My Jetta is lowered with HR #3 coilovers and was hoping to hear from other members with a similar set-up.
Will 18' or 19" fit comfortably and what size tyres would suit the best?

Also I'm after links and pictures of suppliers that stock wheels/tyres to suit my Jetta.
And is there a place where they'll accept trade-ins for my wheels and tyres, or I'm best of to sell them privately?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers

    Best to sell privately.

What Jetta do you have? If you have the Classixs wheels, these should sell fairly easily (assuming they are in good condition) as they are a popular wheel

Yes they're the Classixs 17" and exc condition, just a minor scratch on the front.
What do you think is a fair price for these faisan?

I think the going price was about $1000 including tyres. But since your tyres just about need replacing, you would probably get less for rims only.

Try this mate...... www.tempetyres.com.au , these guys are awesome. By the way the rim and tyre combo you will need for 18's will be 18 X 8 inch rims with 225/40/18" tyres.... this will give you the required rolling diameter (+0.84%) for your Jetta..... this is what I will be going to soon as well.

              cheers mate.
I had a look at tempe ages ago and I forgot all about them.
the freight to Melbourne might be a killer though, I was hopping to find someone local with tempe's range but I think that's unlikely.

Was looking to upgrade last year myself, but everyone started doing the RS4 reps. However, ended up finding these guys. They're located in Dandenong South.

Are you after a set of tyres or wheels in Dandenong? Motorsport Wheels and Tyres stocks thousands of tyres and wheels to suit all makes and models.

                  Thanks Buckets, more options good.
What I've noticed so far is that there is a limited range for our cars here, unless you're prepared to buy from OS
Have you bought from these guys?

I've done my homework, thanks Dragon.
I was hoping to hear from other members that might know of retailers that would stock a good selection of wheels for the Jetta.

...fair enough. In my searching I found the only good value deals come from o/s from the likes of tirerack. But I was looking at BBS wheels which don't come cheap anyway. However that was also when the AUD was significantly better against the USD than it is now.

In the end I was happy with my 18" visions and spent the money on some performance mods...

..sorry i can't offer any other assistance

Cheers mate. Now that’s what I'm talking about, other members sharing and even posting pics so I can see the Jetta dressed.

Nice wheels and excellent price. Are the wheels 18x8 or 18.8.5 and what’s the rubber that came with the package?
                              Thanks again
