Exactly right. In my Pirelli, if I slam my foot down at the lights, I will most certainly have wheel spin. But if I accelerate normally and once moving smash the pedal, I won't experience any wheel spin.

It's really simple to get the car to take off fast without wheelspin, there is no rocket science involved.

Its not the extra power thats the problem, its the extra torque - I have over 400Nm now which in a front wheel drive with narrow street tyres and no LSD translates to wheels spin. The car when stock was already at its limit of adhesion so the extra torque really doesn't do it any favours, at least in the first two gears.
I have 411nm of torque and have no problems with it, it's about how you choose to deliver it.

BTW - What Golf out there has more torque?
Most stage 1 GTI flashes put out around 400nm.

APR Stage 1 Edition 30/Pirelli puts out 435nm and 229kw.

There are more modified cars out there putting out a lot more as well. Look at all the GTI based race cars and they're putting out in excess of 550nm.

Bluefin is quoted at 392nm after flash on the 103kw 2.0TDi.

Mine certainly feels like 20% more torque and at 320nm factory another 20% gives u damn close to 390.
        2005 MkV Golf 2.0TDi 103 - DSG - Heated Leather - Tint - Audi 17" - Lowered - Bluefin Tune.

Mine is a GT not a 2.0TDi so i started with 350Nm. Not sure what exactly the bluefin is quoted at but I know its over 400Nm.

I know the key to taking off faster is modulating the throttle, Im not a complete idiot but I'm just saying that with the added torque and increase wheelspin its far more difficult to get the car to actually go faster. Its not as easy as just get the thing rolling and then plant it - I will get wheel spin on about 1/4 throttle in first gear as soon as its hits about 2300rpm ( no matter if you're rolling or not ) and will wheelspin in 2nd gear with around half throttle. Only in third will the car hook up and go where you can slightly feel the advantage over stock but if you f$%ked up the takeoff in the first two gear ( which is highly likely now ) you'll already be further back than a stock car to gain any advantage with your new power.

I was pretty consistent in getting identical 0-100 times in the car when it was stock standard - With the re-flash I've managed to beat those times by about a second only about 2-3 times with a perfect lanuch. I mostly get similar times to stock if I dont get the launch spot on. So yes the car can be faster but its not far more difficult to do it.

As for the comments that I obviously dont know how to drive - I've been getting that s$%t from plenty of friends but when I get them to try and match my times in my car they can't even match my stock times. "It all about throttle control" they tell me but yet not one has been able to show me how to do it - they get more wheelspin than I do. Its all good everyone out there bragging about how good they can launch their car and how much faster it is but has anyone actually timed themselves to see if they really are any faster?

My comments are based on facts that my 0-100 times are similar to stock 2 out of 3 times, the thing drinks more diesel now, idles rougher, is more difficult to launch and the DPF cloggs up faster. You decide if its worth the money.

Personally I think the money would be better spent on suspension and brakes if you want to go faster.

Also the Bluefin is known to be a bit more agressive with its power delivery.
The ST3 is smoother in its power delivery according to reviews.

As many have said to people out there chasing dyno graphs. Its more about how it drives rather than the figure shown on a dyno graph.

What about in gear acceleration? Probably more important than 0-100 in the real world (of losing your license). Must be noticeably better?

I wouldn't say its noticeably. Maybe it is ....or maybe I just want to notice it to justify the $$$ I spent on it. I would need to time myself with a 60kmh to 120kmh time and check that against what its like in stock to be sure.

Might try that just to see.
