Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Jetta 2009 TsI & Towbars

    Recently picked up a Jetta 2009 TsI for $34,900 with fogs, bluetooth.. (blue tooth is great!) - Grey.

    I am looking at TowBar options for this vehicle .. they dealer want $1800 including wiring..

    Whose fitted a Towbar to a Jetta.. I saw one in the Shopping car park and it didnt require any cutting out from the bumper.. as it came from underneath the rear.

    Hi and welcome.
    Do a bit of searching on here as I recall a few posts on towbars and caution on the electrical wiring.

      the one that comes from underneath the rear of the car is called a swan neck from memory. i have dealer one fitted and (hole in bumper) very happy. few peps have after market and they are laughing all the way to the bank. but they dont have all of the electrical features of factory.
