  • Floor mat

    Hi guys,
Ive just did something really stupid while cleaning the car. I've placed the floor mat on top of my other car and forgot to put it back. I lost it when i was driving the car

Now looking for a new set of floor mat -.-" .. Im guessing oem parts could be really expensive.. does anyone know where i can get a right hand drive version of these ones?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-GT...#ht_2475wt_994

    Cheers,
    Ed

    you could try these guys....

    ebay item number 220405808095

    they are apparently Australian sellers.
the above item number is not for the GTi, but they might be able to help....

        i have no idea.
mine didn't come with mats, that's why i want to buy the ones i linked to.
i think the oem mats are rubber, not carpet.

and the pic that you linked to was embroidered with the GTi logo, and red edges.
the mats that i linked to are just black, with the VW logo on them.

i have not bought yet, so cant comment on the quality.

as these are custom made here, they might be able to make you them exactly as you want.
send them i link to the red ones, and see if they can copy them for you.

no luck so far.. the seller hasnt contact me yet.. and i've also tried different sellers from ebay and even contacting TMTUNING all suggest no rhd floor mats.

Geeezz.. how hard can it be?? ><"
how much would it approximately cost me if i get an oem one from vw?

I wouldn't pay anything for the OEM ones - they are THE worst car mat have seen in a new car ever - crap carpet material. The wife's old Hyundai Excel had nicer OEM car mats. The Liberty is plush in compariosn. Its ana rea where I notice the cost savings that went into the Golf every time I get into it.

I'd bet the aftermarket gear is 1000 times better. Perhaps an auto interior trimmer could make up a set?

I find the OEM mats really good on the GTI and much better then the OEM mats on my Outback and Fairmont Ghia both of which started to disintegrate on the back side of the mat where your hell used to rest. So far there has been minimal if any wear after 12 months. By this time I'd had the mats replaced on the other two cars at least once under warranty.

Yeah they're pretty flimsy, very thin... but they do fit well.

I'd have to check one of my contracts but the genuine VW mats were quoted at just over $100.
