I've decided that once my warranty's up, my car's gonna fly.

Expect this thread again in either 22 months or 80,000km.

he's going to put 2 of those big spoilers you see on lancers and skylines on the car, mounted upside-down, one on the hatch and one on hte bonnet. then he's gonna get hold of a JATO unit.....

in all seriousness, you guys must spend a bomb on modding your cars when they're less than 5 years old....

And for that reason, if you're able to fill up more air and fuel in less time on to the cylinders, than you get more power from more fuel delivered.

Interesting read about the theory, but not that relevant here IMO. Diesel truck guys are using 15:1 compression with 10bar turbo pressure. My friend is using 23:1 with 3,0bar in his MB 3,0TD with 450hp (gt37v vnt turbo) and we are building a similar OM603 MB engine with my other friend with the same compression. Target is 550hp with ~3,0bar with a single VNT turbo.

My van with 2.5TDI 5cyl inline has a bit lower than original compression (20,5:1) due to retracted valve seats with bigger valve job. Ihave been using only 2,0bar boost but with my ongoing build I'm targetting ~5,0bar with two VNTs in serie.

Here's my old dyno with only 1,3bar boost (the dyno I'm using has too low inertia to keep the pressure up). 228kW, 590Nm:

With MAF modification I was able to make power up to 5100rpm, but I don't have dyno plot of it anymore.

Compared to some other TDIs which make the same trap speed @ 1/4 mile and are weighted, I should have a bit over 270kW (370hp) (equal to ~215kW in a 1.9TDI).

You can see my best 1/4 mile run on my sig. Lost to the big block gasser (lighter than my van) 0,1s, but had 1km/h more trap.

                    @AstraOiler:

Where do you get your power figures? Dyno? 1/4 mile?
                    VW T4 2.5TDI 350hp, 700Nm @2,2bar. 2000kg with aerodynamics of a barn door.
                    14,53s 158,8kmh @1/4-mile

damn AstraOiler.. if id known about these gains.. i would have bought one instead of my 2.0TDi!! Exactly what year/model do you have and what sort of money for the tune?

Anyways mine is bluefinned.. Apparently good for 127Kw and 392nm..

Bluefin engine remapping uses an ECU remap for your diesel or petrol engine and delivers better performance. Engine tuning with ECU chipping for diesel and petrol engines.

                      Bout $700 delivered.
                      2005 MkV Golf 2.0TDi 103 - DSG - Heated Leather - Tint - Audi 17" - Lowered - Bluefin Tune.
2016 MkVII Golf 2.0TDi 110 - Wagon. Fully Optioned. Lowered on Eibachs. RS3 Black 18s. Mk8 Head Unit. VCDS Tweaks - Bluefin Tune

I think that in long run you're better of with the VW.
