Too old for GTI?

What the hell is all this early morning talk - having just finished breakfast and had my home nurse attend to my ailings, I can attest that at 56 you, sir, are a mere pup, and are not in any way too old for a GTI Just make sure you get the leather, as the heaters are brilliant for the stiff back......

The day I picked mine up there was another customer picking up a CR 2 door GTI and he looked like he was around 68, but he must have been poorer than me since it had no leather.

And we can still show some of the young brigade how to go around corners

I'm 52 and no way do I consider myself too old for a GTI.
If they import the Sirocco I will be trying to find a way to convince the wife I need a 3 door.
Love the handling and the midrange grunt or the golf.
Now if you were talking about a WRX or V8 SS or GT then you may want to take a long look in a mirror.

I am in the over 50s GTI club and there is no way I would think of getting anything less. Definately makes me feel younger everytime I put the foot down.
Half the Targa fields are over 50!!!!

Thanks for that. I really have no intention of giving up the GTI for a while yet and I don't give a toss what other people think - just wanted to test the water.

not unless your 12v is chipped of course!!

I put a 12V in mine (sealed unit...keeps the dust out) and flashed it by running a piece of wire across the terminals. The results are shocking to say the least.
