Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Jetta accessory - sports enhancements

    Hi,

Has anyone gotten a quote from the dealer on how much those sports enhancements cost - front skirt, sports side skirts, rear sports skirt, boot spoiler, rear spoiler. Are they Votexs?

Breakdown preferably, if not an overall cost would be ok too.

I'm looking at getting a kit and prefer to find something that has dual twinpipes for the Jetta. So far, I've only been able to find the concept Oettinger and the Rieger. These are about $5000 for the whole kit for the Rieger, Oettinger about $4000+ without the rear since that's just concept. Trying to look at other options.

The other issue is, I haven't been able to find any pre-fabricated dual twin exhausts that would go with the Jetta if I get the Rieger rear valance. I read in a couple of posts that to have dual twin exhausts would mean losing the spare wheel well. For real??

I was quoted around $4000 painted and fitted for the OEM kit which is a Vortex kit. It only has the single twin pipe cut out though.

Vortex, not Votex? Would that be cheaper than ordering a votex kit and getting a 3rd party to paint and fit? Or do people just do it at the dealers for the convenience you think?

I got an email from TCCM about dual twin exhausts since they sell the Rieger rear valance for twin exhausts.. unfortunately the exhaust system is for a Jetta 1KM. What's that? Is the undercarriage the same as a Jetta 1.4 TSI 118 MY09?
