  • Climatronic displays Farenheit instead of Celcius

I was telling another GTI owner about the clever alternate display modes available from the Climatronic (http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ht=Climatronic), but he has somehow managed to change the default temperature display from Celcius to Farenheit ? The outside air temp in the MFD is still showing Celcius, but the Farenheit display in the Climatronic is very distracting - any ideas on how to revert to Celcius ?

Off the top of my head, hold down econ and press auto.

If you have a newer car, econ is now called "AC" as some morons cannot grasp the fact that the AC system should be left on most of the time. </rant>

So in that case, hold down AC and press auto.

I thought that only worked if you had a Mk4.. That's how it was done on my Bora with climatronic.
I played around with mine and found that the settings for it are in your MFD.. It's all linked.

Thanks Macca, you're right - resetting the Units display in the MFD fixed it !

My bad. I only have the half height mfd so assumed that it was done from the climatronic controls.

Just when it looked like it was all good - it wasn't ! Making changes via the full height MFD in my car worked fine, but my friend with the original problem has SATNAV fitted and the smaller MFD Any more good ideas regarding changes to "Units / Temperature" with the smaller MFD ? I guess that VAGCOM would be another way to go, but assuming that he managed to muck it up by incorrect adjustment of the Climatronic controls, shouldn't he be able to fix it that way too ? Just hoping someone may have come across this before ?
