  • braking noise

I am wondering if this happened to your car:

Car in reverse, slow motion, hit the brake, I can hear a chunky bang noise, seems something loose under the car front, possibly from rotor / brake area, it happens since new, 6 times out of 10, especially when the front wheels are in angle… does it sound like missing a retaining screw? Car has been driven 30,000km without any “forwarding” problem, even in heavy break. I am going to revisit the dealer next week, would like to understand a little more before asking a fix.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I get it when I roll out of my driveway backwards, before I put it into first and pull away. It is like a 'twank' sound. We have lived with it.

We are more upset that the cars struts make a grinding sound when we go over speed bumps from the struts.

I think I have the same problem, not sure the sound comes from the front of the car though. Did you end up finding out what it was? Mine only has 900km on the clock so I seriously doubt it's something caused by wear and tear...

It "may" be just the pads riding up in their holder. Slack is normally always taken up forward, put in rev and they slide other way, clink..
