Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • US Style tail lights

    On eBay

WOW I didn't realise the linky would be so huge.. *fixed*

I really like these darker style tail lights even though they aren't LED, would these be a plug and play application or does it require some VAGCOMing? I'm aware of the whole rear Fog thing but I can always just buy a red light bulb to put where it should be

Also while i'm here.. Would the R36 style lights fit the Jetta? Lol obviously i'm wanting some darker tail lights to blend in with the Blackness of my car (but not wanting to go some cheap tint of film that'll leave it looking... well... cheap).

The lights in the USA use red as the indicator instead of orange that we have to have.
I think they flash the brake light as the indicator so you may not just be able to change the globe to orange for the indicator

Oh really? The ones I saw online said they have the orange indicator in between the brakes lights... Similar set up to the Golf here except with 2 reverse lights. Could've been wrong though...
