^Well lets wait and see until he calls the dealer today to see what they did.

UPDATE - service guy phoned back, there is something for the DSG to 'fix transmission problems', but nothing otherwise. FWIW.

He did not seem to think it was necessary for my Jan 2008 build TSI...

Some sort of DSG flash may be what I'm experiencing.

I mentioned when I booked the service that my DSG felt slow during changes and sometimes clunky when just starting out.

The shift points are all higher. I used to have to really put the boot in to shift past 2200.. Now it shifts between 2200 and 3000 most of the time.

I'll have to keep an eye on my shift points on the way home...
Have they put a sticker on your door surround (ala update 24M3)?

No, I think they only put those stickers to indicate recall's.

The first step for a dealer if a customer complains about DSG shifting problems is to the reset the learned values.

The DSG will operate differently until the new values are learnt. It sounds like they have reset the learned values.

If you want to know for sure just pick up the phone and ring the dealer.

I had my 15K service in April and part of that was the DSG software update which was supposed to fix its poor operation (in my instance). I did however note that the fuel economy was improved according to the MFD. Typically my route to work shows at around 6.8-7.3 l/100km (depending on my mood) but after the service was around 6.5-7.0 and if I tried could get it down to 6.2-6.3 on the same 40km commute. I know that the MFD is not accurate when compared to checking actual fuel used vs mileage but it still shows a relative improvement which is noticeable at the bowser

Also, my car came with the latest software at the time (Mar 08 build) so the 24M3 update doesn't apply according to the service department.

^Paul OH that's what they said about my SEP08 built TSI but subsequently it needed the 24M3 update. Been fine since

Why don't you just do another dynolicious Polar, and see if it's faster (maybe it just feels different).

I think the comparison between Dynolicious and a G-Tech is good viewing.
Dynolicious is a good indicator of performance.

I'd like to see one, Polar...

This has been discussed before, the Dynolicious software isn't that accurate which is even admitted by the creators of the software, the problem is that the sensor in the iphone has to be calibrated by the user and any slight errors during calibration make a big difference as does the location of the iphone in the car.

Temperature is another issue as it needs to be calibrated at the same temperature as the interior of the car at the time it's used as small fluctuations in temperature will create bid differences in the results.

It's not about being a non believer, it's about looking at the facts.

Fact is I'd still like to see a before and after in the same position in the same car using the same calibration.
It is a good indicator of any specific % change.

Placement aside, all the other stuff affects an in-ground dyno, and is probably a reason there are so many bun fights over any dyno results.
