I just received a letter from Camberwell asking if I'm intereted in buying an extended warranty.
Mine runs out at end June so I'm interested in how much people are paying.
Is roadside assist included? Or will I have to join RACV road side assist after original warranty runs out?

        VW Wollongong!

AS per an earlier post - these guys have great prices - The lady I spoke to is called Jaz Hokin - 02 4254 2000 - She may be checking our forum out!

Ask for her as I guess she is on comms working in sales and she was very helpful indeed.

I got prices on a few models to cover us all.

Full Manufacturers Warranty - Additional 36 Months after original 36 months...
Make sure you read the documents etc as there are some KM exclusions (PM me with your email address if you want me to mail you the extra cover PDF)
        ***Does not include Roadside Cover***

        R32 - AUTO /MANUAL $1417.95
        GTI - AUTO / MANUAL - $1417.95
        1.6 COMFORT - - $1038.00
        1.9 TDI COMFORT/TRENDLINE - $1269.24
        2.0 FSI - $1038.45
        2.0 TDI - $1269.24

For the R32 , this is $741 off the RRP quoted in Sydney...

I know where I will be buying from..

Someone should make this a sticky - very useful

        Cheers

          Cool bananas.

Hard to believe our GTI is 2 1/2 years old already.

They didn't quote a price, just said call thier finance and insurance staff. I'd like to get an idea of cost before calling them. It seems that a fair price would be around the $1500 mark.

I'll ask if Road side assist is included?

Great thread. The warranty on the R32 I will be getting soon (hopefully) is due to expire in Jan so perfect for me.

Ah... Guys I'm fairly certain you can purchase your extended warranty at anytime, and it won't kick in until your factory warranty is expired.

I was offered extended warranty at the time of purchase for my last 3 Golfs.

was quoted 1550 @ barloworld in moorabbin - he has left notes on the PC with the quote, although wont be taking it up to 1 week before mine finishes - as if the car is writtern off you cant re-coup!

I would be interested in this. Mine expires 09/03/2010, pre purchasing it wouldn't hurt I guess.

What's the point in outlaying money, when it can be spent elsewhere or saved or invested? You will only be able to make use of the extended warranty once the standard warranty expires. I would hold off until it ends...

If the group discount is higher than the interest earned over the hold off period, then it will be worth considering now.

At this stage there is no group price arranged and the quoted prices are individual extensions.

If someone arranges a group price, then we can open a group buy thread. For now the title has been changed.

If you got the extended warranty when you bought it and wrote the car off after a year, wouldn't that mean you lose the money you paid?

To me, I would not buy it until as close as possible to the end of the warranty, unless there was a significant discount. Then I would factor it in as part of the agreed value on the car insurance which would increase your premium (but if the discount is good enough then its worth it).

Mine expires on 1 June 2010, and I would be interested in a group buy if it eventuates.
