Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You should have either 90K or 105K service.

The 120,000 would be both DSG (every 60,000) and timing belt (120,000), so $1650 seems reasonable for that amount of work, especially considering that the DSG oil is almost as expensive as printer ink.

All VW dealers can show you a display on their computer which give pricing for all services for all models. Surely you checked this before selecting which model to buy...

As a matter of interest, it's cheaper to service a Touareg V6 diesel than a Golf diesel. http://carservice.com.au/car-service...3&modelid=3352

my cars service history shows that the timing belt was replaced at 107000 km.
i have only had the car for 3 weeks, and know very little about the servicing costs via vw.

needless to say, they won't be getting many of the services.
i have a good, trusted mechanic that will be doing most of the work when it needs to be done.

i will ask the VW dealer about just servicing the DSG on it's own, and get a price for that.

                    Jason.
