LIGHT ON SPEEDOMETRE- what is it?

Hey guys strange to see me on the mk5 forum since i have an mk4 but this is for my friend. shes got a mk5 2.0l golf. anyway today we were driving from uni, and she asked me if i knew what this light was on her speedometre. I didnt know as ive never ahd one lit up in my golf and nor did we have her log book.

She says today was the first day ti came up, it looks like a light bulb with lines coming out of it. much like a yr 5 kids drawing of the sun if you think about it. any ideas??

i dont think so i know what the fog lights one ooks like. its exactly a round circle with another piece attached. again looks like a lightbulb, i thought it was the fog lights or normal lights at the start but we checked and everything was off. im no sure but i think maybe it had an exclamation mark in it?

Accidently pushed the indicator stalk inwards? That would trigger the high beams and give a little lit icon in the dash

Also, don't the VWs have sensors that detect blown bulbs? Maybe that's what it is?

i think its the blown bulb.

Not to be blunt but the only way to find out for sure is to look through her manual.

Also, look in yours. Your car may have it but you've never come across it

Yep is should also say on the MFD which bulb it is.
eg Left brake light or right brake light.

Only on the highline MFD though. The small one won't have the info message.
