  • Golf V R32 Auxiliary Belt Removal?

    Hi,
I would like to remove the auxiliary belt on my 07 Golf R32. I've done alot of searching on the net, but there are no diy's to help with this procedure.

I found that, but the tension setup on the Mark 5 is completely different.

Does anyone know how to remove the tension?

My plan is to remove the belt, idler's and re-pack them with grease.

    The section highlighted in yellow:

Do i just un-do that bolt?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Shane

Use your Torx in the centre one.(in Yellow box) Push to back of car (anticlockwise)
This will take tension off belt, slip to the side.
Loosen bolt on bearing and pull off bearing.

      Thanks Bazzle!
There are two lower bearings i need to do as well. I gather the bolts on the bearings will need to be spun clockwise to remove?

      I'll do this tonight

        AFAIK
When you turn to top tensioner place a drill bit thru the 2 holes to hold the tension.

          Hi Bazzle,
I was just outside un-doing the bolt. But it felt wrong, as i noticed the bolt was coming out at an angle, with little bits of metal sheering away from it. It came out about half way.

Must be another way of doing it i guess?
