The D is the newest Piston Type!
It's probably a C as this was installed prior to around mid 2007 and was then replaced with the G. There is no H.

D is the new one as you said.

Finally someone also have the same problem as mine, but NO MOD in my GTI at all and i do drive like a granny most of the time, so is this why the DSG adapted to my driving, bare in mind, it happens only from 3rd-4th, and a hissing sound along with a pause and just like loss power happen, very noticeable when going thru round about, right before exiting the round when the car is in 3rd gear, you step on the accelerator, this happened !!! Only occur in fully auto D mode, not at all when playing with the paddles in D mode or S mode or M mode ... So is this problem that I need the dealer to reset my DSG ??? or anyone got any solution ???

I'd say it's likely going to be your diverter valve if you are hearing hissing and power loss.

yeah a HISS noise isn't normal, and it really sounds like its bleeding boost.
