So sick of that one especially since you can tell on a Jetta that the other isn't a Reverse.. It's bright red! (Not so much on the Golf though)

i dont know about you petrol-heads, but:

you know you are driving a mk5 diesel when you are in 4th going uphill at 1000rpm and your roof lining sounds like it is going to vibrate off

edit: and you drive around with your elbow firmly pressed against the door trim to stop it vibrating when you have your music turned up

You know your driving a VW when you return to your parked car to see another VW parked alongside.

You also know when you're driving a Mk5 diesel when you're going up a really really steep hill in 3rd and the car doesn't need to gear down, it's got all it's torque right there!

..you go to reverse park and your rear wiper starts scratching across a dry windscreen because you left your wipers on 'auto'.

..you turn off 'auto' on your climatronic and VW still takes control.

unfortunatly, the automatic functions don't always seem to work in the drivers favour. Can't wait to see auto steering control on the MKVII.

No problems with the rear wiper operating on mine when I put it in reverse. You must have a gremlin if it happens on a dry day?
No problem with it happening for me on a rare wet day down here either, I found it very helpful though I tend to use the reverse camera a lot these days, when its clean!!
Geez, we could do with a lot of that rain Qld and NSW have copped lately...

.... when you have black shoe scuff marks on the plastic bottom of your drivers seat, the front door trim, and drivers outside on the side skirt.

When you go to a dealer to have a look at the MkVI and you know more about the cars than they do...

Some examples from my visit yesterday:
The .:R32 has projector halogens not xenons
The new cd player (RCD510) is simply called the RNS510 without navigation
The VI is a completely new car from the ground up
                      MY07 GTI 5door Silver Manual (9.1kg / kw)
                      T2'008 (2.7kg / kw)

When you try and explain that it's a manual gearbox which the gearshifts are controlled electronically.....people just don't seem to understand.

There's nothing slow about a TDI GT Sport and if you feel there is you'd better let the handbrake off or put some more lead in your right shoe
