    Hey mate,

I looked for the mk4 r32's when I was in S.A and no we didn't get them. Our fuel wasn't on par at the time.

We did however get BM 330d's and the like and of course tuned E30 325iS's...

Oh and don't forget the Sierra Cosworth

Imo the S3 holds is value better than the R32 currently and in the past.
I do think it will stabilise between $25 000 and $30 000US... but in the first year it loses way to much!

Did Aus get MK4 R32s? We didnt...

2 Door subaru's were only made and shipped to australia in 1999 in a batch of 399. No more ever got sold here and grey market ones overseas are rare.

EVEN THEN the price still fell to below $30k from the $70k starting.

      Some in low 20's even.

R32 won't go up in value over time. I guarantee it!
That's right on the money mate. R32s are damn fine cars to own and drive, but it is not exotic like a Veyron or something that is so limited in production that collectors sought after. As far as Gen 4s are concerned, probably more "collectable" than Gen 5s since there is only a limited number in this country. The Gen 5s were open slater. If you want 100 - VW Aus will deliver you 100.

As far as pricing is concerned, I think a good Gen 5 R32 should hold its early $40Ks for a while for a good low K one with all the fruit, an early Gen 5 would be in the $30-$40K mark and will probably stay there for a while, since a Brand Spanking one is still worth $60K (with all the bells and whistles), that is only my humble opinion.

Now, if the R32 is around $30-$40K mark, what other car would you rather own for that money which will reward you the way R32s would? Let alone having that German Opera on tap? I can think of NO other car within that price range that gives you that sonorous note.

Flash - Dealer friend has confirmed an R32 can definitely be ordered with factory-fitted electric seats with programmable memory - but these are not the same as the R36 with the adj side bolsters and were a very rare option requested. no price yet.

A 2.0l turbo makes a lot more sense from both a weight, power, fuel consumption and tunability point of view.
