  • Salt Water Damaged R32

Just wondering if anyone here knows the story behind this:

Salt water damage to the whole vehicle ... seems a sad way to treat a MKV R32.

I wouldnt touch that car unless u were planning to wreck it. Could be way too many hassles esp with all the electrics these days. Such a shame too!

If you were thinking about it, it would want to be real cheap, you could be opening a can of worms with that one especially as it was salt water.

Problem with something like this is that because it doesn't look badly damaged, people tend to go silly and pay way too much at auction.

        Cheers

Its a STAT write off, meaning it can only be used for parts.

Even then, there are WAY too many electrics in the R32, so not many parts could be salvaged. Mostly body and maybe some mechanical parts..not many..

it has aftermarket pipes on it...
the interior could be a good one for a TDI or a base model

the engine and box alone are worth a bit! I wonder how much the car is going for, Pickles never says

WHY would you get rid of the stock wheels and put those ugly bloody things on! ARGH!

Saltwater submersion for any length of time will truly kill this thing. Forget ANY electrics, Hmm engine and drive train, the engine would need to be drained and a compression test done, transmission, diffs and the likes would also need to be drained. Interior would be ruined and the panels will oxydise after time, bloody shame that. Trez is right its a nasty thing
