2009 GTI - Looking for Auto Tuning in Melbourne

Hey there, new to the forum, have just purchased a 2009 GTI w/ DSG and have been looking for a reliable tuning shop in Melbourne.

I'm considering putting a GIAC chip in, but if I do this, I want the car secure - apparently from what I've read you should be strengthing the struts at the front of the car and I'm sure in order to prevent any damage to the car exhaust etc. may need to be modified too.

Hopefully someone out there knows of a place that can do quality VW modifications and provide some warranty around the work - I'm looking for quality rather than a cheap solution.

Any help would be most appreciated guys - the car is fantastic and am looking to turn it into a track car.

Karl,

You do not need to strengthen the struts or the exhaust if you want to get a chip. Strengthening struts using sway bars etc, will improve handling.

Flashing the car is a very simple process and many people have a flash as their only mod without doing anything else and have a very reliable car. The stock exhaust will also be fine with just a flash, but can be upgraded if you wish to chase more power.

Information is great - how much power can a modified exhaust provide? I was looking at a Mif (or Mintek?) exhaust system for around $1200 for parts...

Also - if anyone knows where in Melbourne I can have these mods reliably done it would be most appreciated!

add/change details up the top in the menu bar under "User CP".

Do you mean "Milltek" Exhaust?? Also have a look at the AWE exhausts as well, they are pretty good quality.
