  • Idle Problem

I searched and couldn't really find any information on this fault.

After the car warm up to the normal operating temp of 90C, the idle won stay still. Before the problem occur, it usally seat at 700rpm. Now as seen from the video attached, it reving between 700 - 1400rpm. Or sometime stay still at 1400rpm.

There no difference in the driving feel. I have check the oil and is in between the minimum to maximum.

    Please help!!

My vote is faulty sensor, and perhaps someone with Vag com can check your car for errors. If under warranty, head to your stealer!

      Wow that car sounds possessed.

If it's a GTI, it also sounds modded!

Perhaps that the problem, and the reason why the previous owner got rid of it

Should have a fairly reasonable answer as to what's wrong though.

I'd take it into a dealer who understands error codes. I'm sure something's been logged that'll tell you what the problem is. I know there's a few sensors that adjust idle depending on what the car's doing (aircond etc).. it's probably nothing major.

sounds similar to a problem that I had last week. Mine was feeling pretty rough as well and after a day the engine warning light came on.

I took it to VW and a breather valve had gone. VW replaced it on the spot under warranty.

You're probably right, maybe it's more of a possessed thing I'm sure if he gets it into a decent dealer and gets it checked, they'll be able to work it out. If not there's always another option
