How big is it? Could be off the seat runners at the front or back??

I did, but they don't always want to tell you the truth ..
It's slightly bigger than two matchboxes stacked together.

Have a look at the other seat, maybe you will see where that part could go. If nothing is missing than maybe they are replacing some components as the cars come for servicing and forgot to clean up after the work.

My seats have these on the front of the runners. I did kick one off once. Made of black plastic. It slid back on.
If that just put back and tap gently. Even you "may" of kicked it off?
Only the size of one old matchbox though
