  • Depreciation of R32?

I'm planning on selling my R32 in 1 year, it's an 08 DSG anyone got any ideas what it would be worth then. Should have about 30'000kms on it. Also does the fact that they're not making it any more affect the price?

Yeah I guess it all comes down to demand. There are f*ck all R32s in WA (at the moment) so hopefully this will make it reasonably easy to sell.

Did you laugh at his post on MKV.com "BY"...or just doing it because of the anonymity that watercooled offers?

There are 07 R32's in QLD going for $40,000 with 60,000k and $45,000 with 25,000k.

It will also heavily depend on what they do with the new R32 if/when that ever comes out.

Also where the world economy is at in 12 months, hopefully better/on the mend/not any worse!

However, buying a new car has never been so good!

It also seems that people selling GTi's in SEQ are dreaming!

                3dr 2007 GTi DSG with 23,000k - $37,000....
                5dr 2007 GTi Manual with leather 16,100k - $35,100...

This is before stamp duty and rego which would come in at around 1200 and maybe more...

Considering I paid 40,000 flat for my 5 door DSG new, I mean come on!

I would say massive depreciation. I just paid $43K at a Brisbane dealer for an 08 R32 with 12K on the clock!!

                  Great time to Buy.
                  Bad time to Sell.

I don't think you'll fare that well, sadly. 35k if you're lucky. It's a buyers market if there ever was one. I've had mine for a year, I'll probably keep it another 2 before I sell it. Thankfully, depreciation for me is a tax deduction.

Nah I'd be happy with 35k. Thats what I'd expect to get for it

A while back in 07 i saw an 07 demo R32 with the REcaro wing seats for $46k, was interstate so I didnt buy it as it would have cost me almost $50 once it was onroad... etc etc.

For that money I could get into a second hand X Y or Z thats better, so I got the GT sport instead and spent part of the difference on a portable clam opener- Rolex GMT 2.
