what have people paid for the GTIs lately?

with/without Corp discounts (I can get it).

Be interesting to know.. Certainly not the $50k they were asking a couple of years ago when I first enquired about it.

Just remember a new one is around the corner (early 2010) so VW are trying to get rid of current stock.

Factory is doing drive away pricing (no onroads).

I paid 40,000 drive away, GTi 5 door silver DSG cloth interior with $1,000 of stuff like tinting, floor matts etc...

If you want a Mk5 its the time to buy!

Pick up in about 1-2weeks..

Would they have much stock left? 2010 is still a year away and thats a long time to sell out whatever stock they have.

If you want one don't wait too long. I got a 5 door United Grey DSG with leather and tint for $44K but I believe you can do much better, I'm just crap and negotiating, love the car though.

Won't be dealing with Morabbin anymore.

The most effective way I found to haggle was to find out what is in stock and then know exactly what you want.

Then just call up dealers and say "I have a credit card and can give you a deposit over the phone" name your price and keep making calls

I had dealers eating out of mind hand. I had a dealer principle told me I was dreaming yet he called me back 3 times. hahaa
