At the recent Melbourne motor show, the VW big wig from Germany said that the NEXT generation of Jetta sedan will be launched in 2 years time, but the WAGON will be launched early next year locally.

The tail lights are a bit tragic.

Sorry Mav, according to the UK and DE websites there isn't a GTI wagon.

Regardless of the rear lights, IMO I think it would sell like hot cakes over here. What a brilliant looking mid sized wagon and with the economy of the TDI - I might have bought one instead of the GT, had it been available. Then again I'd have bought a Tiguan only it hadn't been released either at that stage

Looks like an Octy or Passatt or Audi (RS6 anyone ?) are your only current choices if you want VW technology in a wagon

I reckon Octy sedan/liftback would be a good compromise if wagon is not your thing... it got slightly bigger luggage area than Golf with back seats down and a big boot opening.

Do the rear seat bases fold forward (thus allowing the seat backs to fold totally flat)? I know this is the case in my Subaru Outback, was the case in my wife's old Astra, and I've seen it in several other marques as well...

The tailight reminds me of old Accord wagon
