Perhaps I should've started my own thread about the rear fog light. Sorry to the OP if this has gone a bit on a tangent.

I don't think any standard fit reversing lights are all that bright, IMO when you reverse at night you're practically driving blind anyway and just need to use a bit of common sense and care when doing it.

Two rear fog lights is better then one except when you're a tosser who drives around with them on.
Two reverse lights is better then one.
One bright light on one side could be a car with a faulty brake light on one side and a broken one on the other.
One reverse light is rubbish, they should have two.

Can you get brighter globes for the reversing light/s (eg halogen - same watts but more light output) ?
(NB I hope I get brownie points for not rising to Mavs baiting)

I've tried a few options in there but when measuring the lumens of output they all were useless. The light looked brighter when looking at the fitting but they lit up my garage really poorly compared to the oem globe.
I'll be fitting some lights down low once I get around to finish off my testing and will do a how to, had a few failures during testing so far with what looked like promising additions but which ended up being useless.

My parents believed that you appreciate things more if you pay for them yourself, so I've been buying my own cars for the past 37 years, and that doesn't look likely to change anytime soon. Have yours ever helped you with a vehicle purchase ?website: www.my-gti.com

Never a cent hence why I tend to look after my cars. There seems to be a pattern of parents buying a car for their children and the children not caring about the car and thrashing them. Make them buy it with their own money and maintain it and they will appreciate it a whole lot more.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the assistance, on the reverse light issue, I am just happy I am supposed to only have one!
Left a message with the dealer today to send me my bottle opener!
Tint appears to be fine, but haven't had much time today to give it a good look, will do tomorrow when I give it a good bath.
On the run in options, I am not taking the crazy snow mobile guys directions, the original link is to what I can see as the best, and most justified way of running a modern engine in essentially in line with the VW guide lines, with a few more pointers for getting the piston rings sealed without wreaking the engine from over reving.
I did a fair bit of driving today and the average millage came right down, but it was actual driving as apposed to all the start stop stuff which makes sense.
On the bluetooth front I have a in ear device that I used to use, which works fine, if I can't get phone book access I see no real point to going to a full intergrated system and using the $550 odd to say colour code my bumper.
Today I went up and down mount cootha again and out to samford -
Best decision I ever made!

Hey Korb, don't forget Nebo Glorious, somerset, Kilcoy, Mt Mee etc etc. Great driving, and run in material to be had!
I deliberately bought mine on the sunshine coast, then spent the rest of the day coming home via the mountain ranges, and made it work. I agree high combustion pressure is the key.
Actually did that loop twice in my former V8 on it's first two days, clocked up a rather fun and hilly 500k and it turned out to be a very healthy baby indeed.
Enjoy!!!2014 Skoda Yeti TDI Outdoor 4x4 | Audi Q3 CFGC repower | Darkside tune and Race Cams | Darkside dump pDPF | Wagner Comp IC | Snow Water Meth | Bilstein B6 H&R springs | Rays Homura 2x7 18 x 8" 255 Potenza Sports | Golf R subframe | Superpro sways and bushings | 034 engine mounts | MK6 GTI brakes |
