Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Another weird noise topic to add to the forum

Early today, driving to work, I started hearing a wierd deep bassy noise coming from what i could tell the front (It was like someone was playing their music loud in the next car with awesome sub, only it was a constant deep sound) My airconditioner was switched off, my radio was on mute, and i was the only one on the road... any ideas of what it could be?

I was thinking it could be the massive rubbish bag that I drove over yesterday, but i had a look and nothing was there...

i am hearing a humming from mine.

gearbox side. happens at idle and when driving. doesnt change in volume. only started doing it yesterday as well. cant hear it once you're moving over 20km/hr

im ignoring it because the DSG hasn't made a bad gearchange since the noise started. (i know exactly how and where i can induce a bad gearchange now, and it didnt do it this morning )
