Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Gti wheel refurbisher - Brisbane

    Hi,

Can any Brisbanites recommend a wheel refurbisher.

I have (or should I say the wife) scuffed two of the wheels on separate occasions.

I notice these scuffs every time I get in and out and it's starting to annoy me.

Changing the wheels is not really an option as the care is under a lease so I really should to keep it stock.

wait until she curbs all of them, once its ready to let the car go after the lease THEN get them all repaired at once.

That way they'll even all be the same colour. If you get them fixed now they will be visibly different colour tones and even have a different paint finish on each rim.

I have used a guy called Graham Witt. He owns and operates Colortech, a company that does automotive detailing. He did a good job

P.S It was my boyfriend who scratched my wheels!

I know what you mean - I bought a GTI, and the front drivers side alloy was scuffed, annoyed the hell out of me as I kept on seeing it every time I got in and out of the car.

Anyhow had it fixed by the touch up guys nth side brisbane by a guy called Bill (0415 616 394)- did a really good job of filling the scraps and repainting it $100 per rim. Plus he comes to your place to do the job - all good.

                  I kid you not.

Every time she takes the car, it comes back with an additional chuck missing from something. I guess it's that VW quality coming to the forefront

Buy it, use it, abuse it, sell it.

                  No worries.

They have asked me to bring my new wheels in so they can get a couple of the staff to have a look and tell me what they can and can't do with them.... and let me know cost of works (on a cheaper for more work done basis). I can then pick and choose what I want done. Now thats service, and they are not trying to rip me off!

They are on the Gold Coast but they pick-up and deliver your wheels.
