Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Windscreen sun block covers

Hi guys, as a new owner of a MKV GTI I am in need of a windscreen sun block cover to reduce the heat inside the car when parked in the sun and it hopefully will also protect the interior from fading and cracking.

Any suggestions on some good covers that fit the windows well, do the job they are meant to do and are easy to fold away when not in use?

Also we got a VW umbrella as a 'gift' when picking up the car, only problem is that it rolls around too much in the boot, any good achoring ideas to keep it still?

    Thanks.

Look in the accessory catalog and buy one of the many accessories available for the boot like the different mats, straps etc or put the umbrella under the parcel shelf or under the carpet to one side or anyone of a number of other places that exist in the car.
