  • Golf 5 sound system

Just how good it is! After 3 months of ownership and a lot of CDs going through it I really appreciate the quality of the sound. The designers have gone to a lot of trouble to place the speakers so that it emulates "surround sound" as closely as possible. It's easily the best in-car, original equipment sound system that I have experienced. Well done VW

i love my sound systems and while the vw one is good in the mk5 in my opinion the best sound system ever installed by a vehicle manufacturer is the macintosh stereo in the subaru liberty its truly mind blowing its not a vw i know but the sound system is truly amazing

I'm very happy with the sound system in the Jetta. Excellent sound quality.

An Ipod adapter is next on the shopping list.

Top of the range Harmon Kardon in the 760Li BMW is Number 1 for me.
When you pay $330K+, it would want to be #1!

Is that what is standars in the Golfs / GTI ? A Blaupunkt?

Will the unit play mp3 discs?

The sound in the Golf is very good indeed! At times it almost sounds as if there IS a subwoofer.....I know that there is not.

Yeah the sound is great in the V5, the only thing that annoys me is the lowest volume is still too loud.. especially when trying to have a decent conversation with people in the rear.

Hi, I got an ipod adapter around $300 installed. Not bad but the way it works is a bit annoying as it selects your first 5 playlists as external cd 1 to 5 thru the radio & then will play the rest of the tracks. I can only get it to play the first 5 playlists. A

You can play albums if you first disconnect the iPod from the adaptor select the album and play it on the iPod and then plug it in to the adaptor again.

A bit convoluted I know but it does work if like me you have 5000 odd songs on your iPod and 5 playlists is just a bit limiting!

My unit is the RCD 300 i'm not sure about the Sat Nav version
