Well... my love of Diesels started back when I first got into russian tanks from WW2. The T34 being my favourite, dominated the battlefield due to its poor but reliable build quality and sturdy diesel engine that didn't freeze up like the german petrol's did in the snow.
I then got into Ship diesels. Nothing beats hitting the NAWS at 15rpm and pulling all the way to 25rpm.
Then when I was a bit older I started to appreciate the driving experience of american diesel trucks.
Which leads me finally to the greatness of VW TDI GT's. You simply can't find a better way to transport fuller figured gentleman around town. So much torque your driveshafts give a little whimper as the key is turned and the DSG clutches begin rattling out the lords prayer.
Not me, but I'm a HUGE TDI fan too! I actually thought I was buying a TDI then realised later that I actually ordered the TSI. Bloody keyboards having the 'S' and 'D' keys so close together
It's all bravado me sticking up for the TSIs, it helps compensate for our small....

Is that true? If so, this thread stinks even more than I thought it would.
I'm leaving forever / all diesel owners are discriminatory and absolutely racist etc
(Wasn't me who had the Erwin login - TBH I wouldn't know what to do with the info, but it would be an interesting read)
Is Erwin an online version of ELSA or something else altogether?
too PolarBarney, do you have a copy of the TSI engine manual? I only have the tech education bulletin for Polar and the Perthites ( which is a boomerang too polar... )
Yeah came across these Tinto, but these are really aimed at the earlier motors, as the latest throw an error code if the engine doesn't sense enough exhaust in the mix. No EGR in the diesel will raise EGT's and my testing today proves they are already WAY hot.....at least according to the USA crew.
You lucky TSI'ers don't have EGR from what I read in my manuals!
