The VIN number is there so you could talk to your friendly local VW server manager and ask for it's history.

If it's been serviced at somewhere like ultratune you won't get a history back of course but servicing at ultratune is the same as not servicing .

Don't forget the buyer's premium 5% on top, plus there is no reg as they remove the plates and you have to get the NSW permit to drive away so you can get it re-registered.

Are you suggesting there is some kind of central servicing database? Warranty work they might be able to find out from VW, but when I changed dealers they had no idea what the other crowd had been up to.

My service books fit into a discrete little slot beneath the steering wheel, and inside its black leather cover, unless you knew what you were looking for, you would never find it.

still hard to see though.

Yet everyone who cares / is (take your pick) about their new car can't bear that interval and goes in for an oil change at 7.5k... like me.

9k is definitely a forgivable distance for no service history.

Bid required has been sitting at $33709 for past 24 Hrs. I'm not in the market but seems like a great bargain.

Looks like it finished on $39009, or $40959.45 with the 5% buyers premium included.

which is quite a bit higher than I expected it would fetch... (based on what's available for private sale, and what you can get a new one for at the moment)
