  • R 32 exhaust upgrade

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an exhaust upgrade on an R32 Mk V ?

  • #2
    Depends on you're budget.

If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend doing the flapper mod for some extra noise!

You then have Eurojet from the US which is on the cheaper scale, and also GHL and Neuspeed. Some big buck exhausts ($2k+) include Arqray from Japan and Supersprint from Italy.

There are also custom options too. So it really depends on budget! Have a search on youtube as well to hear the differences between all the brands.

If i had the cash, I would pick either Arqray or Supersprint!

bolt on ones get very expensive. MK4 R32 cat-back from APR is about 2.2k!!! i dont think they are any cheaper for the MK5s. They sound beautiful though. Milltek seems really popular in US and UK. have a look at www.r32oc.com they go in depth with these

I will have a look at the Milltek, APR and Supersprint sites and see what they cost here in Aus, thanks for the advice.

go to youtube and type in 'milltek golf R32'....there should be a few result. have a watch of some of the videos, it is just pure sex coming out of the exhaust pipes!

once you've decided on that, send GT3 (Neil) a PM for pricing

don't forget Arqray!!!! i think this and supersprint are best sounding exhausts available for the MKV R32!

Don't think APR have one for the MKV either.

If you are going to go aftermarket, go the supersprint. It looks and sounds the best IMO. But I would try the 'flapper' mod before you upgrade, just in case you wanted some more sound down low.

A very good point. I have the flapped mod done and i love it. I wouldn't change it because its not too loud, but you still get a nice note. Try it, it doesn't cost anything anyway

Where was that quote from? or is that getting it from Europe direct. i checked out the Supersprint, it sounded the best I thought.

That was quoted from a place in Tullamarine, Melbourne called Car Shine:
Car Shine specialises in German car accessories for German cars. We can make your car look, feel and handle better showing the world your personality

I didnt ask them about shipping costs, but something tells me it could end up costing close to $4k all up.

Arqray can be landed in Australia for approx $2.7k as someone over on golfmkv.com just received his and it looks damn fine!!

I wonder if the Arqray are cat back or just the rear exhaust. I looked at their site and it was 170,000 yen in Japan, that is about A$2,700.00 then there is freight ,duty, customs, GST etc.Where is the $2,700.00 Arqray you were referring to , I had a look at golf mkv.com but it was in US $ or am I mistaken.
There must be others in Aus who sell Supersprint for less surely!
                          Thanks for all the info!

He ordered it from Performalink in NZ. Landed at the door for $2700AUD. The Arqray is a catback exhaust as well.

What a great looking bit of gear. I still like the Supersprint sound more and if I can get the non resonated Catback Supersprint for no more than A$3,000.00 I will get it. I had a look on r32 forum and it appears the Supersprint are great and give performance gains but are expensive. The Arqray will be my next choice, how about you?
