  • Upgraded Alarm

    Hi Guys -

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there's an upgraded alarm module for the Mk5 which adds an actual alarm, plus some perimeter/jacking sensors.

Are these available as genuine aftermarkets from VW? I don't recall ever being asked to option it, so they must be available somewhere.

Thanks. Would be nice to add them in, as I'm getting a bit miffed with jackoffs looking through windows and/or loitering around the car in the carpark.

    Cheers.

The GTI's and R32 have the alarm standard, it's an option on the GT. The siren is fitted inside one of front wheel arches.

There is no upgrade available from VW.

You have interior sensors and tilt sensors on top of all the other features. This can be disabled by pressing the button on the B pillar on the drivers door.

All this is detailed in the book in the glovebox as well.
