  • Eibach Sportline Installation

Today I had my Eibach Sportline kit installed by Michael @ CVWC Tuggernong.

Car sit much better, a little bumpy-ier, but better around corners. Did it more for apperances than anything else. Might go for shock upgrade later in the year.

    Here are some pics.

    This is the standard height

    On the hoist

    Comparison of front coil

    Job Done

    Measuring height adjustment

Results ( "B" Is before "A" After ) Ride height before and after recordered. Rear is now the same and front .5mm heigher on drivers side, Wonder why stock height is so different from on side to another?? For Weight ditribution?

    New ride height

Sorry about picture quality as these were taken with my iphone

I just booked mine in for KW coilovers.

Surprised you did a spring-job on the pirelli, it's already pretty low and stiff already, I'd be interested to see how it is sitting so close to its bump stops.

Just watch you don't lose any fillings in your teeth if you hit any hard bumps mate!!!

          Hi,

Thanks for the info, it looks heaps better!

Is this an upgrade that would be good for a standard GTI? I woud love to reduce the ride height to impove the looks, and what did they set you back?

Ahh that's good mate. I had a chop-spring job done once on a big heavy V8, and it was the worst thing I ever did. The ride was absolutely terrible.

Well I've got the coilovers going in within 2-3 weeks (they set me back $4k), and the 328x28mm 2-piece brembos should be coming shortly after. I'll get the rear pads changed, but will leave it otherwise standard on the back.

I've already had the APR tune (nice nice), so the only thing left is the upgraded APR exhaust (still considering), fuel pump and maybe a LSD.

Getting the brakes in order (you'd be surprised how you need them when you realise just how damned fast you're going into a corner) as well as the suspension is my top priority at the moment. Power is more than sufficient - around 230kw/420nm with the APR tune). It's mad. Second gear is just orgasmic.

The brembos are the most expensive part - around $5500 fitted, but they'll be worth it.

PirelliAC's Eibachs are supposed to be the ticket though, if you're changing springs.

Good to see you guys modifying those pirelli's. Kryten your car is sounding like one awesome piece of kit.

PirelliAC get some pics up of the whole car at the new ride height. Looks uncomfortably low.

Its ride is the same as standard. I have not noticed any difference in quality of ride, and I'm not suprised as eibach proudly claim that there springs offer factory comfort with lowered performance

here are some pics, i'll post more on the weekend when i have time

Agree, Eibach is a quality product. That thing sits nice and low like a pirelli should!
