Last week I collected my new GTI 5dr DSG in Sydney, and it's fitted with Bluetooth, fitted by the Dealer.
How can I tell what sort of Bluetooth unit it is? I've read stuff about Parrott units on this forum and elsewhere, but really don't know much else.
To look at the car, there is nothing extra/additional that suggests it is any different to a vehicle that doesn't have Bluetooth.
I've got the RNS510, and it mutes/unmutes as necessary when I receive a call via the button on the steering wheel.
And whilst it doesn't show SMS, address book or anything else, it does seem to work well enough... Considering what I paid....
....I originally ordered the card WITH Bluetooth, but before it was delivered I decided I didn't want the Dealer fitted crap (after ready these forums), so I had that removed. The Sales rep pulled it off the contract, but forgot to remove it from the car preparation. Long story short, I kept the BT for $300, instead of the original $750+.
Thanks,
