  • had my first DSG issue today

    strange one

was driving in manual mode gearing down to stop at a left hander.

all of a sudden the gear numbers were replaced with the letters (P R D S) and they started flashing in unison. still had drive, so i limped it into a servo, turned the car off, turned it back on, all good.

    anyone same thing?

Ergh... Sounds like a software glitch or the signal selector on the mode got totally confused. "Rebooting" the car is hopefully all that was required to right things. Not cool at all.
    Cheers,
    Trent
Edit: Sounds like it's a comms issue. Have a look here. If it persists you may need to get it to a dealer asap to get it fixed by the sound of the thread below.

just got back from the dealer.

they said the error was due to a faulty up shifting paddle which they promptly replaced.

the bad part is the up shifting paddle is much softer than the down shifting paddle.

so i have the car rebooked in a couple of weeks (when i can get a replacement car) for them to change the up shift paddle again to something with more tension.

Ahhh . . yep, and double de-clutching when downshifting used to be harder too!

I've had that too, when starting the car up and it was really cold outside.

                  Haven't seen it since.
