  • Paint and leather protection

To those of us with the paint and leather protection on our cars offered by the dealer, hows it holding up? Do you wax it or does it still look ok? Would you get it again on your next car

I have paint protection on mine but never got it done at the stealer. Car is 3 years old now and still looks like it came from showroom.

I bought the paint protection from www.counteract.com.au and done it myself. Very easy to do and saved a shed load.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm just not sure....

Interesting place, I'm thinking of buying some from there.

I paid for it and find no difference at all. Bird poo Sticks like super glue, shine went after the first wash, and Stain protection on my cloth wasn't a wipe and go with baby milk, had to use cleaner.

Wouldn't waste my money next time

Waxing your car once a year (I do it always before summer) with quality wax like Autoglym Super Resin or similar is your best option and protection for your paint.. I don't use anything for the seats just regular vacuuming keeps them clean and for any mishaps I use Kirby shampoo with the scotch guard and also WURTH Interior cleaner works well on the dashboards and doors trim.

I didnt get paint or leather protection as I had it on the last car I purchased and thought is was a waste of money.
MY09 Jetta that I picked up 31/12/08 gets
washed & dried every week ( Its Black )
Then once a month I wax, then vacuum interior , then clean & condition the leather & apply tyre gel.
Apart from the tyre gel which is Meguiars, all the other products I use are Mothers that I have either purchased from Super Cheap Auto or Autobarn.

I had mine done, in a package with my tint, but not from the dealer. All up it cost me $600 for tint, paint and leather protection. The paint protection is quite good, and the tint from 30 paces is fine as well. I've only had mine since November last year, so yet to see the true staying power.

However, on my last 2 cars, I've used the products from Wolfgang, from waxit.com.au. I bought the full kit, did the clay bar the worx, and it came up! If I was going to do it myself again, that is what i woud do, and have done on our 2nd car. It just depends upon how motivated you are I suppose!
