Cog I want blow by blow picture updates on all your mods on your diesel.... so that at night when no other TSI owners are awake I can go into my secret shrine to black smoke and motorized plough attachments and look at them.

Sorry to go back on topic but I think the issues I've been having were caused by bad fuel. I believe fuel is fuel in Perth (not oils aint oils) and all is sourced from the BP Kwinana refinery.
I usually use Peak Bayswater due to location & competitive price and it has served me well for the last 7 months. A week or so back I filled up at BP and that's about when the issues started. After filling up again yesterday *at Peak) the car is 100% back on song and running sweet.

Oh so now it's TSI AND GTI drivers ganging up. Cool!
Who'd have ever thought a diesel could be nipping at the heels of such sporty cars. Guess if VW release a bi-turbo common rail TDI things will get real interesting.

Why wait, get one of these M-B engines and whack it in your GT TDI, the conversion shouldn't cost you much more than you paid for your whole car

                        the range-topping Euro V-compliant 250 CDI 2143cc twin-turbocharged diesel delivers 150kW and 500Nm.

When installed in the C-class, an updated version of which is due in Australia next year, the 250 CDI .... can also accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds, and overtake from 60-100km/h in 9.4 seconds.

In a golf it should get going pretty quickly, especially if you then remove all the heavy unecessary stuff like Polar Actually, why not put it in a Polo - after all acceleration is all about the power to weight ratio, and Golfs are heavy little blighters.

And just so I can't be accused of going "Off -Topic", make sure you put a decent FMIC on this hybrid monster so it doesn't lose too much power in hot weather.

0-100 in 7.7 and 60-100 in 9.4? They must have left the handbrake on for 60-100 run!

I'll bet they forget to properly convert from Mph to Kmh for the second figure (when they were typing from the M-B press release). How does 100-160 in 9.4 seconds sound ?

                              On the fuel front.

I have found that my long term fuel trims at most points are negative values, indicating that the computer has decided to run leaner and meaner than the factory fat tune. With this in mind, if you reset your battery you should expect blunted performance until your fuel trims come down.

Also, you want to shop at a fuel station that is VERY Busy. This ensures that they are going through 98 octane fuel quickly and getting refilled more often. This ensures the petrol is FRESH. If you go to joe dodgy with his 1 98 octane pump you will get **** that has been sitting for ages most probably.

If you have get good results from one station only fill up there. Don't swap.

PS... on the weight removal front I now have no sound deadening tar in my boot. 2kg and my fingertips GONE!
