  • squeaky noise when braking

I discovered some unusual squeaky noise - just once when braking somewhere on the left between DSG and left wheel. Checked brake pads, they are 5mm at least. It doesn't relate to DSG gears changes, but not sure if other things were not lubricated. The car was serviced 3 months ago for 60K, I guess I have to bring them back. Has anyone had such noise?

Could have picked up a small piece of gravel between the disc rotor and the backing plate ? If it only did it once then chances are it's already dislodged itself.

I had one on my Skoda, kept moving around so somtimes it would squeal like the bejesus, other times totally silent. I took the wheel off and removed it myself ( it was driving me and the missus nuts).

        Hey Greg,

I had one stuck in between the back plate and the rotor and it screeched like a wild pig every time you applied the brakes. I had to remove the wheel to get it out and even then it took some persuasion to pry it out.
