Congrats mate, the car looks great! I love how they finally decided to paint everything (or did you have that done? )
Hope to see you on the next cruise
.... And a little bit of Photoshopping to get the colours/contrast right. Flouros give everything a nasty green hue.
To get an idea of what a colour looks like you really need to see it "in the metal". I initially thought the Skoda 'Sprint Yellow' was a bit pale and wishy washy ( I like bright, smack-you-in-the-eye colours), but once I saw it a few times I was sold.

Yeah that's very true. Neither the brochures nor these pics show it how it really looks. And that can change depending on what lighting conditions are around (it looks a lot lighter in the sun).
Some'll love it, some'll hate it. I obviously really like it, plus the exclusivity of yellow in the perilli leaves no doubt that it's a pirelli.
It's a shame they didn't do them in white or red. I reckon white golfs look the number.
Wash, claybar, quick detail and then finally some Gold Class wax.. Yum.
Why did you quick detail before applying the wax? Were there any swirls in the paint? My Jetta had a few light swirls that I needed to remove before I applied the wax.

When you clay, you need to do it in combination with QD .Then I went over it again to remove a few clay spots and get it ready for the wax.
Truth be told, the clay was a waste of time. I couldn't see (or feel) any perceivable difference.
Must be big in yankland with their bad quality controls/transportation methods - but the golf felt like glass before I did the clay....
I bought a lambs mitt wash glove too... Stupid me put it in the washine machine at 90 degrees, now it makes a perfect mitten for my 1 year old... DOH.
Clay still helps on a new car but not as much. Its still an essential step though. I am sure your clay would have gone a little black in places which shows you its doing its job.
I used to use the Megs lambs wool mitt but I use a Kenco Microfibre Noodle wash mitt now. I like this better than the lambs wool. Cheaper too.

nar... I broke the clay in half, and by the time I'd done the whole car, it was still identical to the half I had left. Not a spot.
I'd just washed it with Gold Class wash beforehand (love the smell of that stuff), so it already had most of the road mess off it.
As an aside, my god does the back end get dirty (brake dust) fast I hard drive and the whole back end was coated in it.
