Name a feature in your MKV that has never been used
That button deactivates the interior movement sensors and the towing protection. The alarm is still active.
If you want to deactivate the alarm and also switch off deadlocking, but still leave your car locked, press the 'lock' button on your remote twice (depending on your programming options for locking). This is useful if you want to leave a person in the car - if it is deadlocked they won't be able to get out, which could be very dangerous (eg fire).

At least they have that option with the VW's, my son Cam just sold his Hyundai i30 and although they're a fairly well equipped car that was one feature that they obviously overlooked because once you were in the car and it was locked from the outside (remotely) you had no way out unless you kicked or punched a window out, very dangerous , at the same time, even with VW's or any other car for that matter, IMO it's still not a good idea to leave people in the car whilst it's locked, unless they are responsible enough to leave the keys with so they can let themselves out in an emergency.

Ahh on the Polo I can just pull the door lever twice and it unlocks and then opens the door.

I'm pretty sure from memory that it will only work like that in the Golf GT if I press the door lock button twice on the remote, the car still remains locked from the outside but you can then pull on the indoor handle twice (as you say it does in the Polo) and the door will unlock. You can tell when this feature is activated as the small red light in the drivers door stops flashing.
The key switch in my glove box that switches off the passenger airbag.
Do you have the key switch? No cars delivered in Australia are allowed to have this fitted as it breaks the ADR's.
Every other country in the world can have this fitted and it's a completely ridiculous that we can't but what can you do when we have idiots who have to justify their jobs by writing absurd requirements in the ADR's that drive up car prices.

well said!!!
for me i haven't used LC, 12v socket thingy, cargo net, spare tyres (fingers crossed) + other things that i cant remember.
A bit OT but why would you want to switch of the passenger Airbag?
I think they have it in the USA because if you have kids sitting in front, an airbag going off could do more harm than good. You therefore switch it off and on again as required.
