  • Which VW Genuine Factory Accessories do you rate?

    Hi all,

I'm soon to be a proud new owner of a GTI MkV DSG, in United Grey with most the popular factory options (sunroof, leather, RNS510, parking sensors, Bluetooth, etc).
Like an excited kid at Xmas, I can't stop myself pouring over this forum to devour every piece of info about the wheels I'm so eagerly awaiting. So I thought I should introduce myself.

Anyway, I'm wondering what Genuine Factory Accessories you guys all have, and how you rate them? I opted for the rubber mats and the fitted boot tub.

And does anyone have, or know where I can find, a brochure of the accessories or a least a complete list of them (preferably with prices)??
I know the standard Golf brochure from the dealer as some in the back, but I believe that is a fraction of what is actually available.

    Cheers,

I've got the rubber mats & boot liner, both v good.

Also got the mudflaps, headlight protectors & load sill protector in an aluminum/stainless on top of the bumper.

I'd like the luggage net under the rear parcel shelf.

GTI comes standard with mats. The foam style boot liner is great.

The mudflaps on the GTI look so wrong and headlight and load sill protectors can be done using clear paint protection film.

And you can add the luggage net with the kit from oempl.us.

This is similar to the one on the GTI/R32.

The GTI comes with mats from the factory, did you know this?

Which boot tub did you get, the light foamy style one is the best as it has a reasonable lip to protect from spills, stops things from sliding around and is light. The real expensive one is a waste unless you carry a lot of dirty stuff as it's really heavy slippery rubber.

The boot inlay is the one shown. The boot liner is the big rubber one.

Also the luggage net is great and uses the 4 attachment points, stops everything from moving around.

The pocket transboard I've been thinking about as it would be handy to carry things on.

Seat drawers are worthwhile as well but you need to buy them from overseas, tmtuning have good prices for them.

Also watch out with the bluetooth, it's likely to be the crappy non factory one that VW is selling in Australia. The better choice is the genuine factory bluetooth which you have to import yourself.

I paid $90 for it but I didn't try and get it down as I added it after I organised a good deal on the car.

I knew the carpet mats were standard in the GTI, but I thought I'd try the rubber ones instead because they should be easier to clean. I've always hated the way you can never easily vacuum stuff out of carpet mat.

And to be honest, I don't know which boot liner I ordered. Because I was ordering from the brochure, which doesn't display both types, I just asked for the boot liner. Whatever it turns out to be, I only paid $80 all up for the mats and the liner.
