  • Circuit Time - Queensland raceway - Clubman Track

    Hey

Just wondering if anyone here has done a lap around QR (ipswich) and have a time? A friend did it in his STI on the weekend to the tune of 66seconds and I'm wondering what the Golf GTI's have done?

If you have done a lap can you note any mods (ECU suspension tyres Sways etc),
    The Time
    Your racing experience

Am somewhat keen to go have a bash and see what its all about!
    Cheers

Sorry no VW Golf/Polo time, but the best time I've done around the QR Clubman circuit was 63.3 in a 997 GT3 on semi-slick track tyres. Around Wakefield Park (probably a similar length although fewer straight sections than QR) the same car was about 6 seconds faster than my best Polo GTI lap - so I'm speculating that around 75 sec for a Polo GTI around QR Clubman would be on the money?

I was looking forward to doing the QLD Dutton Rally in the Polo this year and setting a time in that but it seems they aren't running a QLD event this year.

62.9 is my best in the Cayman S
63.02 in my GTI Golf with a couple of mods

        Hey Guy...

Define a 'couple'! Just DP/APR st1/2 ? or are you talking FMIC + HPFP + more?
So a 66 would be somewhat of a safe bet in a chipped gti with semi slicks and shocks/springs?

Really depends on car setup - our car has more mods than you are allowed to type in one post

Our stage 3 kit allows us to hit pretty big speeds down the front & back straights, but we spent a long, long time setting up the suspension / spring rates / camber / castor / damping as well. Not to mention we have pretty good brakes so we can do 20 laps consistently too!

So its pretty hard to say what one does.

Our partner workshop (Mike Weber Prestige) has done the "sprint track" in 103.7 in a stage 1 car with suspension & semi slicks if thats any help.
