its barely a brand name, and still less than half the price of the well named brands.

plus to have one made would mean having some dude take out the current one which might pose a problem if they havent done it before, as i doubt many exhaust joints would not have had the experience with the cars.

wasnt meaning these were brand name ones. if you have one locally made you get local support and followup service. and if you take it to a good exhaust shop it would be nothing complicated for them. anyawy, just a suggestion take it or leave it

on the mk4's there was a difference for lhd and rhd

so unsure about the mk5s, best to check on mk5 golf forums and ask but im sure would be the same so becareful!

plenty of places will do it for you these days for a reasonable price!

thanks for the advice and honestly ive NEVER bought an off the shelf system as all the cars ive owned had custom jobbies.

i think im taking abit more care with the golf as its brand new.

and with the sticker price being around $500 AUD for a 3in stainless DP with hangers and v bandsm all done in SS, (including shipping) it makes it a very handsome offer.

i reckon to get something custom made would be around 400-500, so not that much cheaper.

even if the ebay jobbie is pants, im sure itll be nothing for the local exhaust shop to tag a coupla welds if need be.

I recently got my 42 Draft Designs 3" turbo back exhaust fitted which i ordered from the states and it all went smoothly except for where the piping goes over the rear cross member near the back box. The clearance wasn't quite right and i had the exhaust rub on it when i had a couple of heavy people in the car with me...I took it back to the exhaust place on the weekend and hopefully i've got that sorted without too much trouble...

I'd be interested to know about the RHD/LHD downpipe differences that are meant to exist on the mk4's. Did i avoid that by getting the full turbo back system?
