Some times when they say there are plenty available doesn't always mean they have it in stock on their lot. They may have to order from over east which is fine but it means they aren't desperate to clear stock off their own lot.

Also, are you eligible for the VW Corp discount?

Nuh he specifically said they had plenty there on site, no need to order them in.

        VW Corp discount? not sure....?
My company, through another company we work with, can get fleet pricing through Private Fleet...but I dont think thats anything special, I'm sure anyone can use them.

            Will do...thanks.

Also have to sell my car (certainly not trading it for $20k when I'm aiming to sell privately for $30ish) so I guess new/used will also have to take into account how long that takes...there might not be anymore new by the time Ive sold the bmw
In the mean time I'm checking carsales etc to see if anything really good pops up.

Sounds a lot, do u really need $15k of accessories?

just remember that anything u spend on "options" is very hard to recoup at resale time.

Have been browsing through the prices of MK5's. None of the cars advertised were within Redbook value. Does the MK5 hold its value that well or are sellers being unrealistic

as a very general rule of thumb you can scrub 1-2 (or more) thousand off the asking price. people like to negotiate and as a result most sellers will pop an extra few k on top of their MUNIMUM dollar figure.

my purchase a perfect example: 11month old, 3800kms asking price $34,500. final price paid $31,000. not a desperate sell-- just the $$ seller needed to clear loan and be done witgh it (moved on to a 135i BTW).

good luck and be patient. the right car and price will come along eventually.
