Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Somone with VAGCOM in Perth

I am looking for someone with VAGCOM in Perth to see if I can come to their place or they can come to mine, to look atwhich options can be turned on or off and most of all look at aircon output/throughput. I just have feeling that sometin' ain't right.

You can look at the aircon using the climatronic.

        hi mate

mrx helped me with mine, maybe pm him? he's great
what problems do you have with your aircon?

i find that mine's not cold and i wonder if it's just vw that doesn't have THAT cold air... or whether there's something wrong that needs fixing..

Thank for that, I will look him up and send a message.....

I have same impression as you, and when I stop at the traffic lights it does not blow as cold as if you start driving...
I did not have same problem with my commodores, unless it is different aircon system all together....

yeah i've booked in with JH for tuesday to get it checked... if they're going to charge me for checking I'll just walk away and get it done in the next service but if it's warranty issue then they better fix it.

i've had leaks in the car previously (twice actually) and i don't know if that has anything to do with aircon... will keep you posted if you like!

I am not sure if fault for aircon being low on gas would show up?

I think 3 VagCom threads in the MkV section is enough, perhaps the mods would like to combine.....

apologies in advance to mods if this is in the wrong place but i said i'd update in this thread so here i am.

felt bad going to the service yesterday cos my aircon was behaving so much better, it feels like it works better when it's really really hot and works on minimally when it's not. i asked for a tech to come out and have a look cos i didn't want to waste their time if there was nothing wrong with it just from feeling the cool air. he said my aircon worked great as compared to other ones he's seen that have been faulty so i was happy with that assessment (although just superficial) and drove off.

hope you get yours fixed bazzle and you too acdc

Get a cheap multimeter from **** Smith. One with a thermometer attachment.
Stick the thermometer in one of the air vents and see what it says.
Our air temp with the air con on is about 7'C. We don't have climate air. It's either on or off.
